Three types of weather in Antalya
The first type is hot weather. The months of this type are July, August, and September. The daily temperature during this period is about +33 degrees and there is practically no rain.
The second type is cool weather. This type includes the months of December, January, and February. The average daytime temperature during these months is about +16 degrees, the weather is often rainy, and there are sea storms. By its nature, this period of weather resembles autumn or spring in the areas of the middle latitudes.
And the third type of weather is most loved by the locals as it is considered comfortable. It lasts about 6 months a year, it includes the months of October, November, March, April, May, and June. This type of weather resembles summer in the areas of the middle latitudes. There are light rains, a great period for all kinds of entertainment, travel, and beach holidays.
Thus, we can say that, according to our usual standards, there are two seasons in Antalya - this is summer, 9 months long - from March to November, and autumn, smoothly turning into spring, 3 months long - from December to February.
According to the Turkish hydrometeorological center, the maximum average annual temperature in Antalya is +24.2 degrees. The average annual minimum is +13.8. Summer is almost forever!
If we talk about the temperature of the seawater, then comfortable swimming awaits you for about 7 months a year from May to November.
You can also swim in December and January if you are not embarrassed by the fact that the sea is quite cool with the water temperature about +17 or +18 degrees. Perhaps only February and March completely fall out of the swimming season, when the sea is very stormy and you can’t swim so much because of the water temperature, but because of the rough sea.

Let's start in June. A warm, sunny summer month without suffocating heat, the sea has already warmed up quite a bit. During the day, it’s about +25: the maximum temperature during the day can reach +31, and the minimum at night is +20 degrees. The sea temperature is +24. There are only 11 millimeters of rain.
July. This is where it gets really hot. Maximum and minimum temperatures are +34 during the day, and +23 at night, and precipitation is 4.5 mm, that is to say, it’s almost zero. The sea temperature is about +27 degrees.
August is almost identical to July. Hot and stuffy. The sea warms up to an average temperature of +28 degrees.
September. The heat begins to recede, and by the end of the month, comfortable temperatures are established. During the day, the maximum temperature reaches +31 degrees, and at night 20 degrees above zero. The sea is warm and feels like fresh milk with a water temperature of +27 degrees.
October. Let's mark the month with a star as the winner of the season. Approximately it’s +27 during the day, and it’s +15 at night. There is about 70 mm of precipitation in the form of small refreshing rains. The sea has a temperature of 24.5 degrees above zero. It is just a perfect season. If you want to sunbathe, you can go and do that, if you want to go on an excursion, just do it as the weather is perfect!
November. There may be some surprises this month. Despite the statistics, November in different years, however, as well as winter in Antalya in general, can have a different color.
If there is little rain and a lot of suns, the air temperatures will be almost summerish and the sea will still be quite warm for swimming. In rainy November, it will seem that the warm season is over. On average, in November it is +21 degrees during the day.
Over the years of meteorological observations in November, temperatures were recorded as +33 during the day and zero degrees at night. Here it is, November! You can’t be sure 100%, each year is different. The sea temperature is on average +21 degrees.
December. On average, it’s +17 during the day, and it’s +8 at night. There is 260 mm of precipitation - quite a lot of rain. The sea is only +18 degrees.
January. One of the coldest months of the year is January. It is a +15-maximum-day temperature, the night temperature is +6 minimum. Up to minus 5 degrees in January was recorded by meteorologists over the years of observations, but such a decrease in temperatures is extremely rare.
If ice has formed on the puddles in Antalya or snow has fallen, you are a witness to a unique meteorological phenomenon. The sea is +17 degrees, you may well decide to take a dip in Epiphany bathing.
By the way, if you suddenly get bored with snow or want New Year's exotics, it takes only an hour and a half from Antalya to get to the ski resorts with a full range of winter entertainment.
February. It is probably the gloomiest and coldest month of the year. The air temperature is +16 during the day, slightly above six at night, but this is the windy season.
The sea is gray, and stormy, although it is also beautiful this way. By the end of the month, you will feel the signs of spring: many trees are about to bloom, including orange and lemon ones. The mood is immediately starting to improve by sensing the arrival of spring in the air.
March. It can still be windy with about 90 mm of precipitation, but it is already +18 during the day, and at least +8 at night. If the sun is in the sky, it is quite possible to open the tanning season, the only thing is that a cool breeze can blow from the sea. In general, the weather is already quite summerish.
The sea is about +17, it's still cool for swimming. The air is warm, it is quite possible to plan long-distance trips or walks to natural and historical sights.
April. Well, summer has finally arrived. It is +21 during the day, and +11 at night. If there is a lot of suns, then even the sea can warm up ahead of time. According to some statistics, it is +18 in April. It is already warm even in the north of Turkey, you can comfortably take tours to places such as Cappadocia and other regions.
May. It is the official start of the bathing and, consequently, the tourist season in Antalya. Of course, the sea is still invigorating with a water temperature of about +21 degrees, but the air temperature, on average, reaches +26 during the day and +15 at night.
