What the tourists think about their vacation in Antalya in September

Helena, was vacationing in a hotel in Kundu, Antalya:

– I came to Antalya with my friends at the beginning of September. Our plane landed early in the morning, and the hotel shuttle took us to the hotel. Once we checked in, we went to the beach right away.

The water close to the shore was incredibly warm, it was about +26, and it looked so tempting that we just stopped resisting and went swimming. As a result, we spent 2 hours swimming in the gently warm sea and playing in the waves. That was a blast!

The air temperature reached +30 at day time. And, the nights were so warm that we just could not stay in our hotel rooms.

We went out and enjoyed the night life. We walked around the town, went to Kaleici, wandered around there along narrow streets, sat down on the outdoor patios of the cafes – the entire atmosphere was unbelievable!

It is such a rare gift for us to take a stroll wearing summer frocks at night when the temperature is +25! In our home town we can do that two or three times throughout the whole summer.

Eugene, lives in Antalya:

– I would never believe that I can say such words but now autumn is my favorite season! In the past, autumn used to be associated with rains and dreadful days, mud and puddles. At present, autumn is a time of soft sun and morning swims!

I bought a bicycle, and now I try to go to the beach by bike at least three times a week. I usually ride a bike early in the morning, at 6 am, so that I can see the sunrise and swim in the sea! The sea in September is something special: the water is warm and clear and the temperature of the sea is almost the same as the temperature of the air, +25⁰C. If it is windy, I find it difficult to get out of the water because it is much warmer in the sea than inland and I wish I could stay there for the rest of the day!

By the way, did you know that in Turkish the Mediterranean Sea sounds Akdeniz, which means the White Sea?

And, in fact, in the morning when there is a slight transparent mist over the sea the color of the sky and sea unites and becomes so light blue that you start thinking that the water is really white!

In September Antalya is just a perfect place for hiking in the mountains or walking in nature.

There is no need for worrying that you can get a sunburn or heat stroke. In the mountains you can hardly feel that it is autumn like you do in November when the foliage is vibrant with colors: red, orange, yellow. But the walk through the autumn forest, when it is still sunny and warm without scorching heat, gives you a blast of energy and a sense of rebirth!

Those who come to Turkey in the autumn have to be ready for a real fruit feast. You can’t believe your eyes when you see a variety of ripe figs, grapes, bananas, pears, juicy watermelons, melons, nectarines, late season types of strawberries and all apples in season!

Also, in September you can buy ripe pumpkins, egg-plants, and various types of green and red peppers in the local farm markets. In fact, here you can collect a huge set of natural vitamins to any liking!

Those who come to Antalya on vacation or move to live here by acquiring property finally can relax and feel relieved – the heat season is over and 9 months of paradise ahead awaits them with comfortably warm and sunny weather!
