Bafra

Bafra Northern Cyprus | Bafra — pros for living, moving, and buying real estate

Bafra is a small village located 41 km north of Famagusta. In 2006, it was declared a tourist area, which led to explosive interest from investors and developers.

In addition to conventional housing, residential resorts are also being built in Bafra - family-oriented complexes with their beach, restaurants, SPA, a fitness center, and so on. Buyers of such real estate receive everything necessary for a comfortable life.

Bafra attracts tourists, first of all, by its long sandy beaches and clear seawater.

After the opening of the region for developers and hoteliers, luxury hotels quickly appeared in the village, among which is the Kaya Artemis hotel - a huge resort in the form of the famous temple of Artemis, the ancient Greek goddess of the hunt.

In total, the investment project for the development of the region plans to build 15 large hotel resorts.

Sea and Beaches in Bafra

The coast in Bafra is unique - unlike other regions of Northern Cyprus, there are almost no rocks, so the beaches are ideal for families.

Pure sand, gentle entry into the sea - if we add to this the mild Mediterranean climate, it becomes clear why Biafra has been chosen as a good target for investment and attracting tourists.

The water in the sea warms up here already in April and remains warm until October, the maximum recorded in this month is 28.3°C.

Infrastructure in Bafra

The car trip from Ercan International Airport to Bafra takes about an hour.

But by public transport it is both longer and more inconvenient: you will first have to go to Famagusta, and then you have to catch a minibus.

You can rent a car at the rental desk at the airport or online, in advance. Just do not forget that the traffic in Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is on the left side.

Bafra is a village with an actively growing infrastructure. Along with hotels, shops and shopping centers are being built here too.

Not so long ago, a modern medical center appeared in the village, a nursery for babies was opened, as well as a taxi agency - now Bafra residents do not have to wait for a minibus to get to Famagusta or another city.

In general, investors who are building hotel complexes in Bafra are trying to make sure that their residents do not have to leave the village anywhere at all. Therefore, each complex has shops with food, clothing, essentials and luxury items, restaurants, and casinos.

Attractions in Bafra

The main tourist attraction of Bafra has become the ruins of a Phoenician temple discovered in 2018. They allow us to judge the size of the building.

Historically, they were 6 by 11 meters, but, unfortunately, they no longer give an idea of the majesty of the ancient temple.

In the vicinity of Bafra, there is something to see in addition to the ruins: these are beautiful olive groves, and well-preserved churches and monasteries: Apostolos Andreas Monastery, Kanakaria Church, Ayia Triassic Basilica, Kantara Castle.

Not far from the village is the tomb of St. Barnabas, one of the most important Christian shrines, built at the beginning of the sixth century.

Real Estate in Bafra

Due to the tourism status of the region, the construction of residential real estate in Bafra is limited, so the properties here are apartments as well as apartments in new residential complexes, and villas in Bafra.

They are equipped with private beaches, swimming pools, restaurants, fitness centers, saunas, and other amenities.

Most developers offer completely ready-to-live-in apartments, with furniture, household appliances, air conditioning, and built-in wardrobes. The penthouses already have a Jacuzzi, a barbecue area, and a summer kitchen.

Bafra is an attractive place for investment. If you are considering moving to Northern Cyprus for permanent residence with your family, perhaps you should choose a more densely populated area, where there will be clinics, schools, and extra activities clubs for children nearby.

But for investments in the future, Bafra is ideal: every year the population of the village is growing, and the purchased apartment can be profitably rented out.
